Black and white or color headshots?

bunkerla.comIf you do an Image Google search for the term “actor headshots” it’ll probably show you a bunch of headshots of famous movie actors and actresses. The chances of those headshots being in black and white are pretty high because the last time most of the big players in Hollywood even needed a headshot was when black and white were the only options.

Times have changed and so have headshot styles because these days full color shots are the way to go. If you show up to an audition or go to your agent with a black and white image, you’re most likely going to get a funny look and you’re agent will tell you that you need new images.

So when you’re sifting though your 4×6’s and trying to figure out which image to use as your 8×10 prints, go ahead and throw out the black and white shot. That is if your photographer bothered to take one.
