Don’t abandon ship during an audition

bunkerla.comUnless you have the resume to back it up (and we’re talking Hollywood A listers here) you should never stop a scene during an audition.

Nothing annoys casting directors more than when you stop a scene during an audition. Most will tell you that if you flub a word or mess up a bit of dialogue that you should just keep on going. Some casting directors are OK with you starting over but it’s usually only with theatrical auditions and only if it’s the first few seconds or so.

So if you feel like things aren’t going your way during an audition, don’t worry about it because you’ll get another chance. Casting directors will almost always do multiple takes of your audition.
