02 Jun How to stay in touch with agents and casting directors
There are plenty of things that run through the head of an actor after they audition for a part, like “why didn’t I hit that beat?” Or “that was so awful!”
Instead what actors should be thinking is how to stay in touch with the agent or casting director that called them in in the first place.
A good way to keep in touch is through post cards. They’re easy and widely considered the best way to keep someone up to date with what you’re doing. Another great way is by either mailing or dropping off headshots. Just keep in mind that your headshot will probably get glanced at only once then probably tossed out. So if you’re OK with letting your expensive headshots end up in the trash you may want to go with the cheaper postcard route.
If you plan on doing a drop off, be sure to double check and see if they’re OK with it. The last thing an agent or casting director wants to see is an actor who drops in unannounced.
