Headshots are the first (and sometimes only) chance to make a good impression with producer or an agent so you want to make sure you get the best quality print out of your headshots. Unfortunately, many actors make the mistake of sacrificing quality by going with a cheaper...

A common misconception about print is that what you see on your monitor is what you'll get, but that's never the case. There are numerous reasons why this is but it basically comes down to a properly color calibrated monitor. At Bunker, our monitors are color calibrated to match the state of the art digital press we use. Most computer monitors are just not calibrated to match a high end digital press. Most computer monitors have a generic 'good enough' factory setting because color calibrating every monitor would be economically unfeasible. Basically, what you're seeing on your screen right now is not it's true color. It's a very rough estimation if what you're seeing should look like. We've included some examples to help illustrate this.

One of the biggest issues we face every day at Bunker is image resolution and whether it's high enough for print or not. So what exactly IS a high resolution image? In this article, we'll go through and explain what makes a high resolution image and how to tell if your image is good enough for print. First, let's start with what a good quality high resolution looks like, by the numbers. A good high resolution image is at least 2400 pixels in width. If you print out a 2400 pixels in width image at 300 dpi, you end up with a crisp image that's roughly 8x10.

Acting is quite possibly one of the most competitive industries on the planet. There are so many beautiful, talented, hard-working actors and models in the greater Los Angeles area, and a limited number of gigs to go around. In this highly competitive atmosphere, even getting an audition or a call back, let alone a role, can be difficult. Nothing can increase your chances of getting noticed in Los Angeles’ tough, competitive talent market like an eye-catching high-quality head shot. Sometimes, a good head shot can make all the difference between getting a call back and being shown the door. Sometimes, a good head shot can be your ticket to that next big role.
